A piano score reader for learners
Open a score and Hands on Piano plays it for you: every note engraved, every key lit, and two hands showing exactly which finger goes where, at the speed you choose.
MusicXML and MIDI · free · runs in your browser, nothing is uploaded

Fingering from the score, or worked out for you. The hands travel the way a pianist's do, timed from recordings of real players.
Play one hand or both, slow it down, loop the hard bars, count yourself in, or play along on a MIDI keyboard.
Public-domain classics and folk songs, from first lessons to concert favourites.
Hands on Piano has no accounts, no tracking and no ads. The scores you open are read in your browser and never leave your device.
Opening Hands on Piano asks a few providers for the files the page needs. Like any website request, these carry your IP address and basic browser details, which each provider handles under its own policy:
We don't use cookies, analytics, advertising or profiling, we don't ask for your name or email, and we don't sell or share personal information.
Hands on Piano is made for learners of every age. Because it collects no personal information, it collects none from children either.
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.

Hands on Piano is a free, non-commercial tool for learning the piano. By using it you agree to these terms.
You may use Hands on Piano for personal, educational and other non-commercial purposes. Please don't try to disrupt the site, overload it, or use it to harm others.
The files you open stay yours and stay on your device; we claim no rights in them. You are responsible for having the right to use any score you open.
The pieces in the library are in the public domain, but some of the digital editions they come from are licensed for non-commercial use only. That is one reason Hands on Piano itself is offered only for non-commercial use. See Music sources for the details.
Fingering not written in a score, and the way the hands move, are worked out automatically. They are a helpful guide, not a replacement for a teacher. Play at a comfortable pace and take breaks.
Hands on Piano is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from its use. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the law that cannot be limited.
Hands on Piano is built with open-source software, fonts and data, each under its own licence. See Credits & licences.
We may update these terms; the new version will be posted here with a new date. Continuing to use Hands on Piano means you accept them.
